Welcome to York Simcoe Minor Football Association

We introduce kids to the aspect of Respect, Integrity, Honesty, fair play, Discipline and Perserverance, using the game of football as our tool.

The York Simcoe Minor Football Association was formed under the name The Newmarket Minor Football Association (NMFA) in 1995 in response to a request from the Central Ontario Minor Football League (COMFL) for expansion in its 10th anniversary year. A small group of dedicated parents began with a team of 16 boys and girls in the Tyke Division.

In August of 1995 the Young Bucs played their first game and the YSMF Association was born. Our first season also brought us to our first championship game against a previously undefeated team from North York. It was a seesaw battle ultimately resulting in an upset win by an upstart team, the Young Bucs from Newmarket! > Read More

So proud of my son Devon Martin!! He was asked to say a speech at his football banquet and did such an amazing job...in front of 150 or so people and got a standing ovation!!! Posted by Rosi Martin on Wednesday, December 17, 2014
  • "Football is a sport unlike any other. There is a place on the team for all different types of kids. The friends that you make on a football team are your friends for life. Even though my kids are now playing at university we will will always be part of York Simcoe Bucs family!" - Marsha M.
  • I have been happily living in York Region for 15 years with my husband and children and during those years I had put my son Christopher in various extra curricular activities, from soccer to gymnastics to karate but none of them seemed to click with him. He wasn't excited about going to any of the classes, practices or games. But then he found the sport of football last spring with the BUCS and since then he has found something he truly enjoys and is passionate about. To see that in him makes me want to contribute to his happiness, his team, and the organization. - Gina
  • "We are four Moms whose sons have discovered a passion for football. For some of them it has been following in the footsteps of their Dad, for others it has come from following a favourite team. Through their time at Bucs, we have all been impressed by what playing football has taught them: it's a game of discipline, great exercise, total team work, and, let's face it, you get to tackle! For us, the most important thing is that our kids are learning and improving skills, being encouraged to play to the best of their abilities, and all in a safe environment. We plan to help ensure that the Rep Peewee team has a fantastic season, with the emphasis on fun … and winning … and fun." - BUCS Manager Moms
